The Ohio House District 82 (Van Wert, Paulding, Defiance Counties) seat is up for grabs. Republican voters have a choice between incumbent Tony Burkley and first time candidate Craig Riedel.
Incumbent Tony Burkley is a sponsor of House Bill 190–which if passed, will allow county commissioners to determine setbacks for wind projects in their counties…we think this is a bad idea because many will be susceptible to bribery.
Tony Burkley is heavily supported by the dollars and backing of the state Republican establishment, including Speaker of the Ohio House, Cliff Rosenberger. The intense reaction of the Republican establishment to Riedel’s candidacy suggests they are fearful of the election outcome.
Challenger Craig Riedel is a retired businessman from Defiance. Our contacts with Craig are positive and he expresses confidence in the outcome of his campaign.
Our message is, “vote responsibly!”…
